GUESS WHO'S DAK!?
Dak Prescott is coming into his Sophomore year after a stellar rookie season. Can he have a better season than his last? Can he match what he did last year? We are going to take a look at how great Dak was last season and look ahead to my projections for his 2017 campaign.
2016 statistics

Interceptions-4
Attmpt/cmp%-311 / 459 (68.0%)

There are some statistics here that will be tough to match in 2017. First up, interceptions will be a tough one to follow. Two of the four interceptions were in his worst game in week 13, against the rival New York Giants. Not that I don't think Dak will protect the ball well, I do! Four interceptions is just such a small number and he will be facing more defensive competition than last season. QBR is the other one that will be tough to replicate, 81.5 is a good looking number. He finished third overall, trailing only Tom Brady & Matt Ryan. Completion % is the last stat that I feel he could have a hard time getting back at; he ranked fourth overall. I feel he can get near 70% again, but that is not an easy task in the NFL. I am really on the fence with this one.
Now, this is the part that gets me excited! I feel he will outperform the majority of his stats from the 2016 season this year. The biggest reason is due to his confidence coming into this season. Many rivals and experts are calling for the old Sophomore slump. They have also thrown out the popular line, "teams have a year of film on him now." Here was Prescott's response to his critics:
Gotta love that attitude going into the season, and I think he will really develop his leadership this season. Here are my 2017 projections for Dak Prescott:
Passing yards-4,082
Touchdowns-33
Interceptions-10
completion%-66
Sacks-23
Dropbacks-532
Total QBR-79.8
Dak had a whole Summer of training and working with the team as a starter. Also, a very healthy Dez Bryant. A couple things he did not have in 2016. Hall of Fame game is almost 48 hours away. Don't think we will see #4 out there on Thursday, but we will be one game closer. I can not wait to see what he can accomplish in 2017.
