Why Byron Jones Will Light Up 2017

Byron Jones #31 defending a pass against #18 AJ Green   of the Cincinnati Bengals @ At&t Stadium Oct 9th, 2016 It has been an eventful pre-season for the Dallas Cowboys. While there is a lot going on involved with suspensions and investigations, I am going to get us focused on a positive. That positive I am referring to is our athletic safety,  Byron Jones . The Talkin' Cowboys Podcast posted a poll on twitter, for  Who is the Training camp MVP so far? Jones won the poll from fans at 37%, edging out Anthony Hitchens ,  who was at 25%. He has had a solid camp this Summer and is coming off a strong Sophomore season. In his Rookie year in 2015, he was a runner-up for defensive rookie of the year. I think he will improve his numbers from last season and force a lot more turnovers.  Byron has been taking his off-season training to a different level this Summer. He has been practicing with  the Texas Ranger's farm club, the Frisco RoughRiders . One day before tr

WHY DEZ WILL BE DOMINANT IN 2017

January 15th, 2017 in Arlington, Texas ; he gave it his all and he was the force that almost lead his team to a playoff comeback. He ended his day with nine catches, 132 yards and two touchdowns. It was a painful loss for Dez and his teammates. As I sat on my recliner with the feeling of depression, there was a silver lining to that playoff loss. Dez Bryant was back in his dominating form and had an off-season coming to get healthier. For the rest of the NFL, that could be a scary thing!  This is by far the healthiest he has been in over three years. After his stellar 2014 season, Dez has dealt with a few injuries. He missed half of the 2015 season and was playing with multiple back-ups, due to the Tony Romo collarbone injury. In 2016 he missed four games, but after coming back, he seemed to get better every week . His rapport with rookie quarterback Dak Prescott , was something that got better as the season went on. The one stat from last season that stood out to me the most

GUESS WHO'S DAK!?

Dak Prescott is coming into his Sophomore  year after a stellar rookie season. Can he have a better season than his last? Can he match what he did last year? We are going to take a look at how great Dak was last season and look ahead to my projections for his 2017 campaign.  2016 statistics  Passing yards- 3667 Touchdowns- 23 Interceptions-4 Attmpt/cmp%- 311 / 459   (68.0%) Sacks-26 Dropbacks-513 Total QBR-81.5 (credit @ Profootballfocus ) There are some statistics here that will be tough to match in 2017. First up, interceptions will be a tough one to follow. Two of the four interceptions were in his worst game in week 13, against the rival New York Giants . Not that I don't think Dak will protect the ball well, I do! Four interceptions is just such a small number and he will be facing more defensive competition than last season. QBR is the other one that will be tough to replicate,  81.5 is a good looking number. He finished th
